It's an adjustable wrench, pretty straight forward.
Good quality, looks nice (first point is more important than the second, but there it is).
It adjusts and holds its size better than other tools by major manufacturers that I've used in the past.
Although I haven't used the grip in wet or cold environments, I imagine it would suit better in both of those situations. As it is, having the grip helps provide a better feel, if not more torque.

Stanley products are generally well made. The reason I chose this wrench is because my hands are small and I thought it would be easier to handle. But this one is way to small. The 8" would have been a better choice.

There is nothing truly special about this wrench. It does what it is supposed to do. The grips are comfortable, the size scale could be of use in some circumstances and there is very little play in the adjusting mechanism. I have not had the opportunity to test its strength or durability. Otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars. This review also applies to the 10 inch version of this wrench.

I was skeptical abut buying these wrenches because the price was "too good to believe" for a branded product like Stanley. However, the strength and finish of these wrenches is extremely impressive and I'm delighted with the weight, feel and appearance even though I'm a bit of a tool snob.
This product is made in India. This is marked on the box but NOT on the tools themselves. The tools are embossed with the classic, "Stanley" logo, which looks pretty good on almost all of the wrenches; on one of them, the embossing is a little light.
For a homeowner who wants a great set of wrenches at a low cost, this is an excellent choice.

For the money this is a very nice set of wrenches. They have a lifetime warranty on them which partially makes up for the fact that they are made in China. Probably 5 star if made here. The storage case that comes with it is nice. It will be nice to work with wrenches that fit for a change and not keep fighting with a cresent wrench. As always, Amazon was great on their end with the shipping.

I had a wrench of this pattern made by Chapman Tool Company in the 1970's and it was one of my all-time top favorites. The locking lever not only took out the slack inherent in an adjustable wrench, it held the wrench on the nut freeing my hands to grab another wrench or to manipulate the work. I was very sorry to lose the Chapman Tiger-lock overboard and I was delighted to see Stanley offering one, and bought it without hesitation.
I was disappointed to see the Stanley version is made in China and the fit of the working parts is marginal, but it does work and it will be going into my Daily Favorites toolbag in spite of its chunkiness. The finish is good and the jaws will open for a 1-1/4" nut. The price is reasonable. If it were made to the standards of Klein or Channellok I would have paid twice as much--cheerfully!

This wrench is very handy----use on metric and standard bolts and nuts. Locks on like a vise grip----no rounded corners. I keep one in the tractor as well as the vehicle.

This is a cross between a vice-grip and a crescent wrench. This is great for bath/kitchen plumbing when you need to remove stubborn fixtures and do not want to embed the channel lock/pipe wrench teeth into the chrome fixture and leave rough teeth marks on the smooth surface. The wrench locks down without marring the polished finish and it will not fall off if your hands are slippery wet. I also would like to see this tool in a 12" version.

Some of my tools were stolen and decided to replace the adjustable wrenches with the MaxGrip. The grip is rounded so when you really apply pressure it's much more comfortable than a standard adjustable wrench. The down side is they don't open up quite as far as a standard cresent wrench. But if you get the 8", and 10" you'll be happy. I really can't tell you how much more comforatable they are than a standard adjustable wrench. You'll need to try one out in a hardware store and I know you'll agree they are worth the price. I only wish they sold them in sets of three or four.

This tool has been both a joy and a disappointment to use. The joy, when it fits, is that it is very easy and intuitive to use, it holds the nut securely and there is no need to worry about it slipping, unlike a cresent wrench. This is now the first tool I usually grab to remove a nut. The disappointment is that for many situations, there is not enough room to fit the tool around the nut. Often, the space around the nut has been limited such that only a socket, boxed/open wrench or (groan) a crescent wrench will work.
So, when it fits, it works great.

This is pretty much the same wrench as the much more expensive B&Decker. I believe the same materials and ruggedness from what I've seen. Be advised that it ships in a PLAIN BROWN BOX with just instructions written on a slip of paper and two softer pad grips to swap out of the metal ones in the jaws. I don't know a soul who would use them (the soft pads; if I need a wrench to remove something, softer jaws won't make a difference in maring the surface; right???). Surprisingly the switch operates the tool quickly -- back and forth. AND however it works, it won't crush a finger or anything more delicate. But once you stop on the right size, it is pretty sturdy and will hold a lot of force on its jaws -(as much as a 6'-1", 200 lbs man can muster in a quick sitting with my bare hands; pretty cool). Its a good tool for general light work. And while even though it only opens up to an inch and a half, certainly, for other reasons, it will not replace everything in your box. The instructions indicate that it should not be used for anything over a certain amount of pounds of force. I bought it for my father who has every wacky tool out there, and I think, and he reported that it worked great on switching out a faucet, that it is more practical than wacky.
