This is a wonderful product. Very easy to use, and it repaired a bullseye chip in my windshield MUCH BETTER than professional repairs performed twice in the past by Safelite--and at a fraction of the cost. There is also plenty of resin to perform future repairs. I highly recommend applying heat on the inside of the windshield to help facilitate the filling of the crack. The entire repair took about 40 minutes (done at a very leisurely pace), and the results are identical to the before and after photos on the package.

A street light cover had fallen and caused several chips and one small star crack in my windshield, so in the category of cheap fixes from brand names, this fit the bill. So I got it in yesterday and applied it today.
For the chips it was easy to just push the resin bottle against the chip and squeeze a drop into it and put on a curing sheet.
For the crack, I followed the instructions but was not able to get the whole crack filled, possibly because the pit that caused the crack was so small it wasn't letting in the resin, or I was not able to get it lined up precisely to get it all in.
Overall I am very happy. Easily fixes the annoying chips and I am confident that, if enough time is taken, cracks can be filled.

This product worked incredibly well to fix a star crack in my windshield. It took only 10 minutes and the crack is completely invisible now. I had another crack fixed a year earlier by a service and they did a very bad job. They just put some of the resin in the crack, but did not force it in. It looks like they did almost nothing compared to how well I fixed the second crack using fix-a-windshield. I highly recommend this product and it's available at walmart.

In the past, I have used Locktite's product, but was not overly impressed. Even though the Fix-a-Windshield product primarily is designed for chips and not cracks, it worked pretty well on a 7-inch crack in my windshield. Basically, I followed the instructions for fixing cracks, but made sure that I used the injector device for the original impact point and at the end of the crack. Fix-a-Windshield is not perfect -- the crack is still visible, but it is easy to use and works well. Previous cracks of about the same size have tended to spread, but this one seems to be stable. Is that attributable to this product? Well, there's no way that I can know for sure, but I'm happy to give Fix-a-Windshield credit.

I purchased and used this item since July 2006 to fix a star-burst on my windscreen. Back in 2006, there was no-one in my area who repaired windscreens. The same day I ordered this kit, the star-burst expanded to a 7-inch crack! (I rolled my windows all the way up, and left the car in the sun.) When I got the kit, I applied it (after reading, and re-reading the instructions). I was happy then, and now 2 years later I am still happy and a bit surprised. To be honest, I really didn't expect that repair to hold this long. The crack has not expanded. I saved a lot of money by not having to replace my windscreen. Since then, I have used up all of the resin repairing little nicks/chips that come with driving.
This kit is an excellent product. It would have been great if the manufacturer sold the resin separately as well. I still have all the other components of my first kit (except resin), but I now have to purchase another kit to repair a crack on my husband's vehicle.

I asked for this for Christmas because I am 8 months pregnant and it is hard for me to reach across my minivan with the ice scraper. The thing only covers a little more than half of my window (the upper half because of how you have to close it in your doors. It has been warm since I got it, so the windows have not been frosted in the mornings yet. I am waiting to see if it will work, but I doubt it will. Even if it keeps my upper half of the windshield clear, so I can drive and then the defroster can melt the rest I'll be happy, but I don't think it's gonna work.

I'm having the same problem as mentioned by other customers. The elastic hooks at the bottom of the cover will not hook to the rearview mirror-they are too short. The cover also leaves the top and bottom of my windshield exposed and I drive a compact car.
I was going to use the product even with it's faults because it was my only option. The weather forecast was calling for rain so I folded the cover up and placed back in the attached storage case. I tried to zip the case and the zipper attachment broke off leaving me unable to close the case for storage. I'm sending it back and starting the search to find a good windshield cover again.

When I ordered this product I thought I'd finally hit on the "right" kind of windshield cover. It certainly sounded like exactly what I wanted.
The problem is that the product has problems. First, the windshield cover did not entirely cover my windshild -- and I don't own a large car. A similar, cheaper product that served me well for about six years DID cover my windshield; I wasn't wild about the suction cups that secured it in place, but if I slammed my door fast enough the suction cups would hold.
The Wagan EL2324 Snowbrella/Sunbrella leaves the top and bottom of my windshield uncovered.
[My old, cheap windshield cover allowed me to secure it from the outside as well as the inside just by using my windshield wipers as an extra "hold" mechanism.]
When I use my new cover, it simply is not possible to utilize my windshield wipers to hold down the lower, outside part of the cover. If you live in Maine, as I do, you know that winter brings with it driving sleet, or ice, or plain old ordinary Nor'easters, complete with gale winds.
My old product defied almost all that a Maine winter can throw at you. If you can use the windshield wipers to hold the outside cover down, snow/sleet/ice cannot freeze on my window; the windshield cover prevents that from happening.
That will not happen with this product; I've got to buy a new cover, probably cheaper, and hope it works better.
Then there is the overly complicated hook-and-click method of securing the cover.
The directions told me to use one part of the elastic to hold the thing in place by hooking it over my rearview mirror. I tried. Over and over and over again; I TRIED. It didn't hold.
Eventually, after much muttering and opening and closing and locking car doors, I managed to get the thing to come together so I could snap together the two sides of the elastic that holds the cover in place from the inside. I managed, but it was annoying at best.
THEN I got a surprise -- I was headed for my trunk to unload the bags from the trip to the supermarket, and while walking around the front of the car I spied a little HOOK on a VERY SHORT elastic, which was dangling from the bottom section of the Snowbrella on the outside of the front doors of my car.
When I saw said hook, I realized that IT was what I was supposed to loop over my rearview mirror. I tried. It didn't work. The elastic was 1) too short to reach the mirror, and 2) it was on the BOTTOM side of the cover, which made it a completely useless "extra thingy" on my Snowbrella.
If I were using the product as a SUNbrella, it would have worked fine, because I'd only have to flip the whole thing over, and those short elastics with hooks attached would have been in the right place. Although I'm still not sure if it would work -- a short elastic is a short elastic, Sunbrella or Snowbrella. I may try it when summer comes and see if it will work then.
In the meantime, I'll use the Wagan until I can find a substitute, probably cheap [YES!], cover with suction cups, that won't say "SUNBRELLA" or "SNOWBRELLA" on the outside [no doubt a not-very-subtle advertising gimmick].
If I can find a product like what I had before, it will cost me less than $10. It won't look beautiful, but it's not meant to be beautiful; it's meant to cover my windshield from snow/sleet/ice. I'm sure I can find one somewhere. Probably right here at Amazon.com.
And you know what? When I find it, it will COVER my windshield, ENTIRELY.
IT WILL WORK.
Meantime, the folks at Wagan need to go back to the drawing board.
I'll go shopping for a different product later. I'm too worn out from writing this totally negative review to go shopping now!

I'm pretty good at handling this kind of stuff, but this one doesn't seem to work. it doesn't come in a box shown in the picture by the way. there's no picture but just words of instructions which were fine and easy to follow, but this stuff just wouldn't fix the .5 inch crack.

Works great and is easy to use. If you have a small issue it will probably save your bacon.. If you have a large crack it will probably get you through your safety inspection and could save you for 9-10 months!
I had a really bad crack, two inches long, maybe more.. This stuff got me through my safety inspection and the repair held for another 9 months, AND even when it failed on the 10th month the "new" crack was small enough that the garage let it pass.
I'm sure that if I was more careful, more proactive, and had taken my time I could have used this product earlier and it would have been just done with.

I use this product on the front windshield because it is larger than the unit that they make for the front glass. The material is slick nylon so it does not get wet and freeze. I don't use the straps, you can cut those off. I just open both doors and tuck it in the car and close the doors to hold the fabric in place. Simple. It keeps the glass clean, but you still have to brush the snow off the hood before driving.

Even though it doesn't fully cover the front windshield of my Toyota Camry, it still saves me a lot of scraping time. My only other complaint besides the size is it is pretty fleamsy, which makes it difficult to deal with in the wind.

I put this on my car windshield last night when I got home from work and this morning NO FROST! I hate scraping my windshield so this is exactly what I was looking for. As usual Amazon came through for me! The screen is big enough to wrap into the inside of the windshield and also has an elastic band with hooks that make sure it is really secure. This is false. I have a 4" star crack and this does not work. If you have something about half an inch, then maybe this is for you. But 6" is false advertisement. Don't buy!

Contacted motor accessory w/hse as well as slipstreamer for a refund. I have waited 2 weeks already and today I am told usually it can take another 4-6 weeks after the time they receive it and it most likely will not be refunded because I mounted it. Called SlipStreamer who told me on the phone all sales are final (S.O.L.) Still waiting however to see if the dealer will be able to help but it doesn't look like they care either. We'll see. If you care about build quality and product appearance, you don't want this one. The plastic is thin, flimsy and distorted. Once installed you can not adjust it without marking up the black brackets.

I read the reviews of all the repair kits and decided to go with the Locktight because i know them and they generally make great products. I followed the directions to the letter. I did get very minimal repair. A few of the smaller lines seemed to fill in, but nowhere near what I expected. And I didn't expect a flawless finish. I used two of the same kits on two different small nickel-sized chips. I expected maybe the chips to still have a gap and the spidering to fill in but didn't even get that.
I'm contacting Locktight to see what their folks plan on doing to make good on their products.

First time I've tried a product of this type and I was impressed. I know the Loctite name and that's why I took a chance with the product. It's easy to use, a little messy when you remove the adhesive disc but not bad. Only recommendation I would make to Loctite is to make the hole in the adhesive disc about 1/16" larger in diameter. The amount of fluid in the syringe is adequate to repair larger bullseyes.
I'm ordering 2 more kits.

My father-in-law in Boston sent me this report: "Did a real test on the new ice scraper this morning. There was about 1" of snow last night then sleet and freezing rain, so by 7 AM the car had 1/2 inch of ice on the windshield and back window and a good 1/4 inch on the side windows. I started the car, got out the scraper, and in about 5 minutes or less all the windows were clear. I ordered this for Christmas. But since we had an ice storm, I got it early. I love it! I was able to clear all of my car windows in a minute. It is alot better that the cheap ice scrapers you get from some promotion from the Bank. The Tenderizer Teeth cut thru the ice and the saw handle grip with the front grip really gave me the leverage to attack the ice. I have read the other reviews and I will watch out for some of the short comings mentioned. So far, the IceDozer Plus has performed very well. Read the Instructions before using so you know what to use when.
