I use this on my south side windows in summer with great results in cooling rooms. Fairly easy to install, to do a fine job of it you will need assistance. Remains in place all summer and is easily removed in winter. Reduces temperatures and reduces solar glare.

The purpose of STATIC tint is to STILL install it the SAME way as regular TINT. It hardens and are dries, best to give it a day or two. Unlike GLUE tint, you can peel it off without a MESS. So you need to use the same basic tools and methods to install the tint. You cannot just simply press it on and expect it to stay. Amazon gave a wrong description on how to apply this product. PS this WORKS GREAT IN CALIFORNIA. You can have Limo-Cling tint on your front windows and then when the officer pulls you, show them you can peel it off. Almost no shops in California use cling tint. Therefore, the cop will feel dumb because it'll be the very first time he's pulled somebody over and found out a tint is actually removable. Therefore it complies with CA law.

OK, first off, I would NOT recommend this tinting film for car windows that move. For example, I would not put this on any window that rolls down. This is NOT like the tinting film the car factory installs. This is a much different product that is better for blocking sun on windows that do not slide/move.

I bought this stuff to reduce the amount of light coming out of a bright alarm clock. Yeah, sounds weird, but I bought a bedroom digital alarm clock that was WAY too bright (like a nightlight.) I loved the features but it would keep me awake. SO, I put this tinting film on the face of the clock and voila the display is darkened and I can sleep with my clock now.

So, to describe this film. It's the kind of static-cling film that keeps stickers on glass. You know those stickers that are Christmas decorations that you can put on a window, and then peel off after the holiday and save for the next year? THAT is what this stuff is. It's relatively thick (maybe like 2 sheets of paper together) and sticks by static to flat surfaces.

I would recommend this film if you have a window that you'd like to drastically reduce the amount of light passing through (it is a very dark tint) and the window does not move. So, a household window that doesn't get touched a lot, or a car window that doesn't move (like the back glass.) And, when you apply this stuff, it doesn't sit perfectly flat and thus has some distortions. The best application would be if you'd like to seriously tint the window near where your infant rides in the car (and thus will remove the film in a year or two) and you don't lower that window. I bet if you lowered the window this stuff could get peeled off or caught.

In the end, if used for the right purpose (temporary tinting of non-moving glass surfaces) this is a fine product. But, for it to be used for moving windows, or as a permanent car-window tint, I'd avoid it for sure.

The tint went on well after the first 15 minutes of trying. I found the following tips helpful: heavily spray window with water (you can't have too much), heavily spray tint with water (the side facing you), use a small squegee (about 6", a credit card is too small and difficult to use), keep tint wet and smooth with squegee. If the tint is out of position, peel and start over. I was successful after peeling a few times. It took me an hour to tint a 24" x 36" section. The second one goes much faster. I tried another tint that was sticky. It kept clinging together, tearing the sheet, and left wrinkles, even though two of us did our best to keep it flat. This tint was much better. It does not stick to itself, doesn't tear, and is durable enough to peel and reapply. If you go into it acknowleding that you will likely need some practice at first, your frustration may be lower. It also helps to have a second person help put the sheet on after spraying. I am ordering more to do more windows snce I am very happy with it. I would have given this product five stars, however, it does not go on as easy as advertised. It's not exactly peel and stick and you're done. It is worth the money since having windows professionally tinted costs much more and it wasn't that hard to do. It significantly cut the heat from the sun-my purpose for purchasing this tint. However, it is so dark, I cannot see outside at night regardless of whether I have the light on inside. Conversely, people cannot see inside the house at night either with the lights off. They can see inside if the lights are on though.

This product comes out of the package nice, but will not stick on the window for more than a few minutes. If it looks too good to be true...IT IS!
