This cleaner works well. It is not magic and simply applying it and rinsing off doesn't really do the trick. Although, I guess if you were crazy and did that daily it would work, but who does that?
Personally, I try to wash my car weekly. Some weeks it doesn't happen, but mostly it does. I've found that this spray is easy to apply after having just washed the car and then I use a brush on the wheels before rinsing it all off. The spray goes on easy as a nice foam and all four tires of my mustang seem to take just a little fluid out of the bottle implying a large number of wheel washings per bottle. I have only used it three times so far and the fluid level is nearly at the "looks like it just came from the store" level.
As with cleaning anything, keeping a regular routine just makes the cleaning easier and faster. If your wheels are really dirty and you don't clean them frequently then expect to apply this cleaner more than once and to use a little more elbow grease. But, if you're a frequent-cleaner-type person you will find that regular maintenance is a breeze and just a little brushing loosens all of that road crud in no time.
Contrary to another reviewer's complaint it definitely is better than "soap and a sponge." I know this because I washed two wheels on my car with the regular car wash soap I use, and two with this stuff. The results: my wife easily identified which was which.
One thing of note, which did not impact my star rating. I ordered this product directly from Amazon and it arrived in a plastic bag in a box. This is a good thing as the pump had a teeny leak and the bag prevented the fluid from getting on anything else in the shipment. I can't fault the product for being a liquid and being tossed by UPS (the box was ragged when it arrived) but I can compliment Amazon for their packing methods.

I used this product for the very first time this weekend (March 1, 08) and was VERY impressed with the results. I followed the bottle's directions, and I DID use a soft bristle brush to agitate the cleaner. The Hot Rims Wheel Cleaner dissolved ALL of the brake dust and road grime on my car's alloy wheels with EASE. Other products have left spots here and there, but this made short work of cleaning my wheels and left them with a sparkling shine. Try this product, you WILL like it.

Our cars have aluminum rims with a silver finish. Meguiar's G-9524 Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner really does a good job of cleaning them and leaves them with a sparkling finish that seems to last well. Needs to be used with a soft brush - spraying this on and then hosing it off without brushing would be a waste of time and money.

I use this on my Mercedes E500 which I can be a little picky about and it seems to work really well. No adverse effects and it makes the cleaning really easy. Easy on easy off. I recommend this for people who care about their cars.

This is the best product I have ever used, and I work at a car dealership cleaning cars. This product is safe for those who have painted wheels. I have white painted wheels on my car, and this is the only product that I can use on them without risking acid etching or completly ruining them. This works much better than anything you can buy in an autoparts store or commercially. This is expensive, but your wheels are more expensive....

It is the best there is for the job. Proper PH, won't harm the wheels, cleans thoroughly even when loaded with baked on brake dust, recommended by BMW. Outstanding product and I've been using it for about 20 years now.

I purchased P21S for my BMW's alloy wheels after reading a positive review on the BMW forums. BMW's are known for generating huge amounts of black brake dust & grime which are difficult to remove. P21S did work, but no better than far less expensive wheel cleaners widely available at any discount store. I got basically the same results from using Simple Green, which you can buy in a gallon jug at the warehouse clubs for about $8.

I have an Acura TL Type S with dark metallic wheels. I decided to go with this cleaner since I read reviews stating it's the best cleaner for all types of wheels. The reviews were right, my wheels always look brand new after using this product. Make sure to use the sponge that comes with it to get the entire wheel cleaned.
