I ordered this item for my 2002 Ford Ranger Edge. Great price on Goldbox.
The instructional dvd would NOT play. It was scratched.
After opening, I realized I needed some extra items from bulldog to make this item work with my vehicle.
I emailed them numerous times, and left them numerous voice mails. They never emailed or called back.
I am sure this item works for some people, but I don't trust a company that can't back up their product by providing support.

This was a simple project and the kit contains almost everything you will need to install your remote starter. It was a time consuming project so keep your afternoon clear and visit Bulldogsecurity.com and look up your vehicle's wiring chart. The chart identifies the wires on your specific model that you need to connect and whether or not you will need a security bypass module or relays. They also have pictures of key locations to help you identify where to find those wires.If I were to do this again, I would order the T-harness to speed up the installation and minimize potential damage to the vehicles wiring.
Overall, a great product for little money and you can avoid calling tech support if you visit the website first.

I got this item for my dad for Christmas, and I started installation that day. Christmas eve I read all the manuals, watched the included DVD and wrote down some important. I started installation around 8:30 am and finished about 12 hours because I had and some other. The installation was very easy because I had the vehicle diagram for my dad's 1999 Toyota Avalon XLS. During the installation i never made a mistake, for example hooking up the wrong wires. The hardest part that i thought was going to installing the 791 bypass modules in the car and connecting to the remote starter. I haven't completely finished because i forgot i needed relays for the trunk release and dome light, which doesn't mater because the light come on because of the factory alarm system. I highly recommend this product if your looking to install a remote starter your self. By the way I'm only 15.

My car, an Audi TT, for some unknown reason, sucks the juice out of it's own battery when it's sitting idle. $1,450.00 later, the Audi dealership tells me he still can't find anything wrong. After replacing the battery 7 times so far, I decided to buy a solar battery charger that plugs into my cigarette lighter. Trouble is, it did not keep up with the "unknown" discharge factor. I guess I need to buy a larger unit but where is one that uses a cigarette lighter plug in? So I bought this car starter to see if I could just plug it into my cigarette lighter and recharge the battery while I sat in the drivers seat. It works beautifully!!! After charging the Duracell DJUMP Emergency starter for 24 hours like it says in the instructions, I plugged it into the car's lighter. As instructed, 10 minutes later the little light clicked on to tell me the car battery was charged. Yehhhhhhh! My car starts up every time I have to do this....which is almost all the time. This unit needs to be recharged for 24 hours after each use and once a month if not used. It's so frustrating not having my gorgeous 8 year old car start everytime but at least now I just need to prepare before hand and I'm set to go. I hate attaching the clips of other chargers to the battery so this is perfect. It can rain or sleet or snow outside but I'm comfortable in my driver's seat waiting for the recharge to start the engine. I highly recommend this item for those who need and prefer a clean, simple recharging system. It really works great. Now I'll have to see how well it continues to work with time and usage!

I installed this remote starter last week and it works great. First off, I would greatly recommend purchasing the optional T Harness for your vehicle. Bulldog claims that it will decrease the installation time by up to 70%...and it does. If all you're looking for is the basic remote starter function, the installation is not hard (when using the T Harness). First, locate the ignition connector in your vehicle. This was the hardest part for me. Mine was hidden on the steering column under the dash. I had to lower the steering column to reach it. Second, remove the ignition harness from it's connector and install the T Harness. Attach the free end of the ignition harness to the free end of the T Harness. Third, attach the connectors of the T Harness to the Bulldog module. There are only two additional wires that need to be connected: a constant source of 12 volts and a good ground connection. If you don't buy the T Harness you will need to splice into the car's ignition harness and attach several wires (very time consuming). The remote starter should now work after some simple programming, explained in the manual. One other thing, a safety switch is provided so that the starter will not function if the hood of the vehicle is opened. You will need to drill a hole to install this switch. This remote starter has optional features that you may want to consider installing: remote door locks, dome light, trunk release, sliding side doors. These features can be wired in only if your vehicle already has these features. The manual explains how to connect these options. My installation was done on a 1994 Ford Explorer.

If your looking for starting capability,this isn't the product for you.
I own a small car dealership and was able to start one out of the last six attempts.The 900 amps listed is peak amps and does not represent cold cranking power. The cables are extremely brittle and break rather easily. Air compressor works well if you are looking for emergency tire inflation and are not in a hurry but this isn't a feature of any value to me.
Overall, this jump starter is a complete disappointment.

I left the map light on overnight on my 2002 Toyota Highlander and it wouldn't start the next day.
I took my bicycle out and road 2 miles to my nearest Target store and bought this and cycled back. I was a bit sceptical after reading the reviews.
I charged it up for 5 hours; the charge light hadn't stopped flashing - but it was getting dark and I decided to chance my luck. I plugged it in the 12V Acc port in the Highlander. It beeped and did nothing. I then turned the key to "Acc" (as per manual) and then tried again - bingo - the green light started flashing.
After 15 minutes the light stopped flashing and I could then start the car.
I then charged the Booxter up again overnight and I'll put this in the glove box.

This unit has a known defect, it continually beeps while charging. Not only does the unit not charge but the sound is too annoying to stand. B&D's remedy of turning the unit on and off several times does not work either. Be on the safe side and do not buy this product.

I had the same problem that others did. Fresh from the box, the device wouldn't charge. I called the manufacturer and they acknowledged the known problem. They tried to help me "reset" it but that didn't work. I purchased mine at a local hardware store. It is going back this weekend.

The Black & Decker PS400JRB is a good fit for those that need a little juice in the great outdoors or anywhere away from available AC power. My wife and I compete with our dogs on weekends, and most of the showsites are without electricity. The Electromate has 12v outlets for small appliances like RV fans when it's hot, and portable DVD players for the downtime between runs. There are also 120V inverter outlets for light equipment such as fans that need 120v and laptops or portable TV's. A few clubs in the area use one to power electronic timers and P.A. horns for the trial all day. It has a built in radio, and works great with the iPod car transmitter plugged into the 12v outlet and plays music at our set-up all day.
The only negative I have is the recharge time. It seems to be real-time. If the unit takes 8 hours to run down, it needs 8 hours to charge back to full capacity.

Not at all what I expected. Wanted to power 3 or 4 strings of 50-light Christmas mini lights for a couple hours with this, but didn't even keep them lit for an hour. I purchased this product as a replacement for the other Electromate 400 that has the air compressor that I like a lot. I thought the radio was in addition to that feature. I found that the radio replaces the compressor and for me that was not a good trade off. I will be keeping the Electromate 400 with the air compressor and giving this one away as a christmas gift.

I owned this alarm in my Buick car for several years. Well, I went on a long trip about 200 miles from my house. When we were ready to leave and go home, this security system wouldn't let us in! The system kept shutting off my engine and locking the doors. We ended up having to pay for AAA to tow the car home while we rode home in a tow truck--completely embarrassing. Needless to say, we had the system uninstalled the next morning.
To top it off, the remotes are cheaply made and fall apart after just a few weeks of use--and are next to impossible to replace. Stay away!

The thing isn't worth purchase. While the air compressor on my unit works, the pressure gauge does not.
You want these to work when they have to... dead battery from teenager leaving lights on overnight, on wrong side of garage so jumper cables will not reach...you get the picture.
