If you are not planning on lifting your truck or if you don't already own a really tall truck, you will look top heavy with these rails. They were almost as large as the factory step rails on my Sierra 1500. I am planning on keeping my truck factory size so the scale of these rails just looked a little off to me. I returned them and got the next smallest size Putco rails. Don't get me wrong, both rails look great. Amazon was great about the return and everything went very smooth. Happy in Minny. :)

I purchased this product for my new 2008 GMC pickup.
There was a lot of confusion as to weather the unit would fit my truck (site display information said it wouldn't but cross-checking product number with manufacturer site display information said it would). It did.
Unit pieces were well manufactured and fit together well (end caps required some persuading). Two hours of work and they fit & look perfect. Definately a quality product.

I have Silverado 2500 w/ 6" lift & 36" tires. Getting things out of the front of the bed was sometimes a chore.
I ordered one of these based on a reco' from a friend. It took about 20 minutes to install... mostly because I test fit it and then went back and put Loc-Tite on all the bolts.
Retracted it only sticks down about 1/2" right in front of the rear wheels. The mechanism doesn't stay very clean when I'm wheeling, but works flawlessly (going in or out) no matter how much gunk is on it.
I love it so much that I ordered another one for the other side of my truck the same day I installed my first one!

This was one of the only bed caps I could purchase. The plastic is not as thick as the bedliner, but its ok. I think its good enough to protect the bed rails. I gave 4 stars because it fits very well but the stake holes didn't line up. It was ok because I just cut the needed piece out on the bed caps and installed my anchor points over it. Had to cut with a small knife. The anchor points covered the cut plastic and stake holes completely so it wasn't that big of a deal. The 3M tape is pretty strong and thin, so the cap mounts more flush to the body. There is some excess plastic towards the truck cab end, but not very noticeable. The cap protects about 2.5 inches on the inside of the truck bed rail. With the bed liner, there's still some metal showing, but not very noticeable (about .25"). It would have taken about 10 minutes to install, but I had to cut the stake holes out so it took about 40 minutes.
